Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a branch of psychotherapy. The difference being that psychotherapists deal with the conscious mind and clinical hypnotherapists deal with the unconscious.

Our conscious mind makes sense of what is going on around us through what we see, hear, feel, taste and smell, it reacts to stimuli in both a positive and negative way.

Our unconscious mind is rather like a storage system or computer, it stores all the memories and emotions that we encounter throughout our lives, some of these can be too painful for our conscious mind to deal with and so they become buried causing internal stress and trauma. It is often more productive to explore difficult, painful emotions and experiences through the unconscious mind.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is a proven theraputic aid, recognised by the medical profession as having real benefit to patients when often treatment and drugs have failed to help. In this respect it is both a science and an art.

Trained as both an Ericksonian Hypnotherapist (Clinical) and Evidence Based (Hypno-Psychotherapy) Hypnotherapist I take a very client centred and psycho-analytical approach to helping you overcome your fears, phobias, anxieties etc. This means that each session will be tailor made to focus on your representation of the problem, Ericksonian’s Theory is that we all hold the key within us to overcome our problems, it is simply a case of tapping into that problem and tackling the root cause. An analogy of this would be rather like if your garden looks very pretty because you have pulled up all the weeds from the surface, the problem however,still lies dormant and it will not be long until it (the weed) raises its ugly head again. The answer is to remove the ‘root’ of the problem, In order that it no longer bothers you.

Hypnotherapy is a highly effective solution focused form of therapy. The treatment is holistic so that the root cause of the problem is addressed, as well as the way that you process that problem through your thoughts feelings and behaviour.

The most sessions you are likely to need is between 5-6.

Stopping Smoking can be achieved in just 2 sessions.
