Homeopathy
Homeopathy is an alternative medicine originated in Germany in 1794, which is based on the principle of The Law of Similars. In a way, it is an advanced form of vaccination; whereby a substance which is capable of producing a disease-like state is administered to the patient, but in a very minute dose, to cure the similar disease.
Actually, homeopathy works much beyond vaccination. Here, the dose administered is unbelievably miniscule, which renders it absolutely harmless yet very powerful.
Contrary to conventional medicine, the action of homeopathy is much safer, deeper acting, somewhat slower, and results much longer lasting by energising the body’s curative powers. And, it works!
Homeopathy is amongst the youngest and latest medicines calling for more research and promotion. Even so, there exists some very good scientific evidence in favour of the effectiveness of homeopathy with over 60 positive outcomes in randomized controlled trials (see http://www.facultyofhomeopathy.org/research

How does it work?
There are theories on how exactly homeopathic medicine works. As supported in major clinical trials and in practice, it is believed to be working by stimulating the body’s own healing mechanisms. The stimulus helps assist the body to clear itself of any expressions of imbalance. This can be seen to work very quickly in acute cases; chronic cases needing regular but infrequent treatment and eventually no treatment at all.

About the therapist:
A note from Jan Fox-
I first became fascinated with the curative effects of homeopathy after it cured my young daughter’s recurrent eye infections (conjunctivitis) with one single dose of the homeopathic remedy (Pulsatilla) in 1985. I was also a beneficiary of some wonderful homeopathic treatment from a brilliant homeopath which I believe saved me from a major operation as I had been told by a consultant gynaecologist that I needed a hysterectomy due to endometriosis when I was around 39 years of age. Well, I’m in my 50’s now and very well, with all my bits intact thanks to homeopathy!
As I was so impressed with the effectiveness of homeopathy as a patient, I decided to embark on a four-year course of training in 1998 at the Practical College of Homeopathy, graduating with a Licentiateship to practice. In addition, I completed a BSc Hons degree in Homeopathy; this included extensive study into Research Methods, Human Biology, Pathology and Diseases, the degree being awarded by Middlesex University.
I have eleven years of clinical experience and have worked at several natural health clinics. I have a particular expertise and interest in working with clients suffering with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and post-traumatic stress and have found homeopathy to greatly improve these conditions. I’ve seen a huge range of people presenting with many medical conditions both physical and mental and I continue to be encouraged and delighted by the positive shift in health I see with the use of the miniscule miracle which is the homeopathic remedy!
I am actively involved in local homeopathic and other practitioner groups, and attend professional seminars and lectures to continue my development as a homeopathic practitioner. I am fully insured for my practice and follow the guidelines within the Code of Ethics as laid down by the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths and the Register of Homeopaths. I look forward to assisting you to attain a higher level of health, vitality and energy through individualized homeopathic treatment.
